Our friends at the National Headache Foundation (NHF) feature Low Pressure Headache or intracranial hypotension due to spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak on this episode of HeadsUp. In this podcast, Dr. Vincent Martin, president of the NHF, explains how some people who are diagnosed with chronic migraine or other chronic headache are actually experiencing low pressure headache. Low pressure headache is a term often used by neurologists to refer to headaches due to a low volume of CSF, the result of a leak of this fluid arising at the level of the spine. When the treatment is directed at the underlying cause, the spinal CSF leak, patients can, in many cases, be cured. Lindsay Weizel, PhD is the founder of Migraine Nation.
