A paper authored by neuroradiologists at Duke university was published online yesterday. They did a retrospective review of clinical history, imaging findings, and outcomes for patients who had iatrogenic (surgical) spinal CSF leaks. While the patient numbers were small, they found that a smaller size of the dural defect (less than 5 mm) was predictive of whether CT-guided epidural patching would be successful in avoiding an open surgical repair.
