Harvey has been living with symptoms of spinal CSF leak for almost 27 years. After learning about spinal CSF leak and recognizing his experience in the information he found, he is currently pursuing a diagnosis and, hopefully, treatment.

What are you doing for #duradash?

I’m going to bike-ride every other day for 40 minutes to an hour.

What to you want people to know about spinal CSF leak?

I want people to know how severely people suffering from this condition are affected. I mean, really, just imagine that you can’t sit or stand upright comfortably EVER and project that onto your life and accomplishments. It’s a pain few can understand. It’s omnipresent and intense. I just survived it for 24 years, then 3 years ago I discovered all this wonderful information. I’m slowly gaining confidence and trying to realize a diagnosis and maybe even treatment.

What research on spinal CSF leak do you hope to see in future?

I am encouraged by all the work done in the past few years. New techniques are being explored, but there’s a lot of work to do, including finding better ways to diagnose and inform.
