Join us in taking action to address healthcare disparities within the American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. Sign on to the letter of support by April 28, 2022!
These communities have the highest prevalence of disabling headaches in our country, but unfortunately, existing resources within the Indian Health Service to address this problem are minimal. Access to care by a neurologist within the Indian Health Service is less than one seventh that of the US national average, and there are no doctors at all within the Indian Health Service with specialty certification in the field of headache medicine.
To address these health disparities within the AI/AN communities, our partners at the Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy have proposed a relatively inexpensive federal solution: creating Indian Health Service Headache Disorders Centers of Excellence to include direct care, telehealth, consultation, education, training, and research.
Join the Spinal CSF Leak Foundation in taking action by contacting your Representative in the House of Representatives to ask them to sign on in support of the creation of six Headache Centers of Excellence within the Indian Health Service.
It only takes a couple of minutes to add your name to the pre-written letter, and it can make a huge difference in the lives of millions!
