“Spinal CSF Leak: Bridging the Gap” is an annual conference held in November at the University of Colorado Anschutz in Aurora, Colorado. This event aims to share collective insights via a diverse cohort of clinicians, researchers and, crucially, patients. The goal of this conference is to foster a nuanced, patient-centered understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of spinal CSF leak.

This event is a partnership between Dr. Andrew Callen and the University of Colorado Anschutz, and the Spinal CSF Leak Foundation. Our inaugural “Spinal CSF Leak: Bridging the Gap” event was in November 2023.

Click on the thumbnails below to see the schedule, speakers, and venue for each year. After the event takes place, we will share conference videos from our speakers on the landing page for that year.

At the bottom of this page, we’ve also shared the state of practice open access paper “Perspectives from the Inaugural Bridging the Gap Conference: A Convergence of Clinical and Patient Expertise” that was published by the American Journal of Neuroradiology in 2024. We were asked to contribute this paper after our inaugural event in 2023, and its authors include not only doctors and researchers, but also patients. If you’re interested in learning more about this event, the paper is an excellent summary from last year’s conference.
