Our mission is to reduce the suffering of those affected by spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks.

How?
– raising awareness
– educating the general public and those affected
– educating healthcare professionals
– supporting research

By funding research through donations from our supporters, we hope to help accelerate advances in the field, thereby reducing the suffering of all those affected.

Now we are posting our first Request for Research Proposals that advance the understanding, diagnosis and/or treatment of intracranial hypotension.
Several grants will be available to researchers associated with medical institutions in the USA.
Applications will be accepted until September 24, 2018.
Awardees will be notified on November 19, 2018.

Other ways that we are supporting research:
We are currently supporting the development of guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of intracranial hypotension. An expert panel was assembled in October of 2017 to start work on this important project. This project is certain to stimulate more research collaborations.

A small research project at Duke University was funded this spring; we will share the results of that project when available.

We are one of several organizations participating in the Ehlers-Danlos Comorbidity Coalition to research the cluster of disorders that often appear together. Several research projects are in the works.
